Tendi Sherpa was born in 1983 in the village of Khembalung, located in the eastern part of Nepal, Sankhuwasabha District of Nepal. Following in the footsteps of his father, a seasoned mountaineer, Tendi began his trekking and mountaineering career at the early age of 13. Over the past two and half decades, his initial involvement has evolved into a profound passion, a distinguished profession, and a record of significant achievements.

Today, Tendi is an IFMGA/UIAGM Certified Mountain Guide, having successfully summited:

  • Mt. Everest 17 times
  • Cho Oyu-2 times
  • Mount Lhotse-2 times
  • Mount Manaslu-4 times
  • Mount Amadablam- 2 times
  • Mount Aconcagua-7 times
  • Vinson Massif, Antarctica-3 times
  • Kilimanjaro, Africa-3 times
  • Mount Rainier, USA-1 time

His extensive experience spans not only the Himalayas but also the Alps in Europe, Andes, Antartica, South Africa, Newzealand and United States. Furthermore, Tendi is a trained high-altitude rescue professional, having completed specialized training in Longline Helicopter Rescue in Sion, Switzerland, in 2011. Since then, he has been actively involved in numerous rescue missions both in Nepal and internationally.

Throughout his career, Tendi has had the privilege of collaborating with several prominent European and American companies. Some of his key partners include:

He is very keen on sharing his Himalayan culture and magnificent mountaineering and trekking experiences with the adventure community worldwide. He also loves to serve the deprived communities in Nepal. He is involved in different social organizations in Nepal. He is founder of Tendi Sherpa Foundation-TSF and through his charity he aims to support for the education of childrens who lost their father on mountains during their profession. He is also a dedicated member of Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA).
